Hello, and welcome! Thanks for being here. I'm Cherie Lester and I'm a private Holistic Nutrition & Wellness Coach here in beautiful Washington DC as well as the Healthy Eating Specialist at Whole Foods Market Georgetown. My hope is that this website will spark some new ideas and allow us to reconsider the value of the conventional approach to health and nutrition we currently have. As you'll hear me say, the definition of being truly healthy reaches beyond just how we eat. True health requires big-picture-thinking by considering how our daily lifestyle - how we live holistically impacts our ability to be well. Aside from diet - - stress, physical activity, sleep and relaxation - all affect the condition of our minds and influence our complete health. When our bodies and our minds are connected and in balance, we are more able to heal, restore, thrive and grow.
REINVENT: As a health coach I empower, educate, motivate and support men and women, providing them with focused attention that achieves results. No matter your current level of health or what your goals might be, I'll work with you where you are now. Our consultations begin with a confidential and detailed Health History review where we look at your daily consumption, physical activity, energy level, weight concerns and self-care practices. Each week I design a comprehensive plan that will help you improve and restore the state of your health, your energy, your sleep and your level of stress.
FOOD: Deprivation doesn't work. This will be an enjoyable journey full of great tasting foods with the vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, micronutrients, fiber and protein your body requires- and loves. In no time your taste buds will re-boot, allowing you to break the addiction to the nutrient-poor; overly processed; sugar, fat, sodium & chemical laden, Standard American Diet (SAD). We'll make positive changes that will cool internal inflammation, boost your immune system and kick-start your metabolism. I'll provide meal plans, recipes, tips on how (and where) to eat-out and suggestions you can take with you to the grocery store (we might even go together!) We'll determine what's best for you and I'll design a plan to create lasting health.
MOOD: While changing your diet will elevate your mood, there is more work to be done. And this is fun work! In today's world making time for yourself and taking care of yourself mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually is not an indulgence, it's a necessity - for you and for those around you. We'll discuss the many holistic options available and find out what's right for you. Rebounding, meditation, Reiki Healing, drumming, art therapy, skin-brushing, hula-hooping? Time to think beyond the familiar and try something new!

Cherie Lester, CHHC is a Holistic Nutrition & Wellness Counselor, certified by the AADP (American Association of Drugless Practitioners). She is also the Healthy Eating Specialist at Whole Foods Market Georgetown in Glover Park. She is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (SUNY Purchase partner) in New York City and holds certification in Plant-Based Nutrition from eCornell. Her most important education, however, came directly from her own personal experience. In 2010 she was diagnosed with Late-Stage Lyme Disease. In an effort to heal and restore her body, she began a complete health-overhaul. After regaining her health, she became incredibly passionate about the concept of "food as medicine" - and about spreading the word. Cherie is a long-time resident of Washington DC, is a visual artist, loves frequenting farmers markets, hiking through Rock Creek Park, visiting museums and spending free time with her family in Lewes, Delaware.
